Perry says "Many people tell me that I have too much on my plate; too many things to deal with, with too little time. I disagree. All of the things I do in my life have made me the strong, dedicated person I am today. I play for two softball teams, and I also have a 12 month old niece who lives with our family that has been diagnosed with brain cancer. My life can be hectic and hard, but I know I can handle it with the support of my family; and, if I can handle these things and still do well in school I know I can accomplish the same high standings in college. But I also feel a need to provide younger players with a mentor and provide opportunities for them to learn the mechanics of pitching from the "ground up". As a young player, I didn't find older players willing to help and guide me until I joined a travel ball team. I think that isn't fair. Perry says \"Many people tell me that I have too much on my plate; too many things to deal with, with too little time. I disagree. All of the things I do in my life have made me the strong, dedicated person I am today. I play for two softball teams, and I also have a 12 month old niece who lives with our family that has been diagnosed with brain cancer. My life can be hectic and hard, but I know I can handle it with the support of my family; and, if I can handle these things and still do well in school I know I can accomplish the same high standings in college. But I also feel a need to provide younger players with a mentor and provide opportunities for them to learn the mechanics of pitching from the "ground up". As a young player, I didn't find older players willing to help and guide me until I joined a travel ball team. I think that isn't fair. Not all families can afford 14 years of the fees and costs associated with travel ball, and that isn't fair to league players who want to play in high school and try out for college teams in the future."
