Fall Tournament Schedule Still Being Finalized
The fall 2010 tournament schedule for Allison Porter and SWAT Academy 18U (formerly known as the Oklahoma Fightin' Armadillos) is still being prepared. Anticipate college exposure tournaments in Tulsa and in Mustang. Will also potentially have a festival at their home field of Putnam City North. Stay tuned for updates. It will be posted online as soon as the schedule is made public.
Allison Porter will be playing for the same team but a different name
The Fightin' Armadillo will now be named SWAT Academy. One of the major changes is that they will be fielding several teams from 12U thru 18U. Allison will be looking to play middle infield and also maybe some time in the outfield too (during tryouts she really showed a lot of range in the outfield) for the 18U team. Watch for them in some college showcase games this fall in Tulsa and Mustang. An update will be sent once the fall schedule is firmed up.
First Day of School
Today is offically the first day of Allison Porter's senior year at Deer Creek High School in Edmond, OK. Seeing old friends and making new ones. Looking to improve upon her GPA of 3.6 last semester.
Ready for fall practice
Had a meeting tonight to talk about team and organization going forward. Skills testing and assessment this weekend and next. Ready to start the fall tournament season.
Gearing Up For Fall Tournaments
Allison Porter is using the time between summer and fall tournaments to really get serious about finding the right college. The last couple of weeks have been spent editing videos and starting to send out emails. And a family vacation to Colorado. Trying to excape the heat in Oklahoma.
Allison Porter shows her durability and mental/ physical toughness
Since the Fightin' Amadillos will not be going to nationals this year, their summer tournament season is wrapping up. Allison played in every inning for the Armadillos this season playing either SS or 2B. Despite some close calls, Allison was able to avoid serious injury. She did get banged up a few times and had a major collison with a runner at 1B this last weekend but was able to remain in the game. In another incident earlier this year. she almost got knocked out by am umpire. Allison ends up the season hitting 0.294 with a 0.371 on base percentage. On the defensive side, she had a fielding...
Armadillios win 3rd at Tulsa Night Owl Tournament
After being seeded 3rd in their pool, bracket play began at 5:00AM Sunday morning. The Armadillos knocked off the 2 seed in a back and forth game with Allison Porter knocking in the tying run and scoring on her first at bat in ITB. She follwed that up with a double to the fence in left center in their next game. The Armadillos finished up their summer tournament schedule by taking third place at the TGSF Night Owl. The day or night you might say began with a 9PM game and continued to pool play through the night. The team played almost continuously for over 12 hours with only short breaks...

Armadillos Next Tournament in Tulsa July 9-11
The TGSF Night owl is a unique tourmament where game times start at 10PM and the last games for the day end about 5AM. Good way to avoid the summer heat. Come out and watch me playing either 2B or SS. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.
Armadillos win first and drop the second game on Saturday at the Mustang Summerfest.
Amadillos won the first game 9-1. The dropped the second game in baracket play 4-0 and are done with the tournament. Highlights for Allison included a slicing line drive down the left field line for a single in the first game. Allison also recorded 6 putouts in two games at second base. They came as a result of covering first base on bunts and a pop fly. Defensively, since playing more at second base, Allison had recorded a 0.976 fielding percentage. Playiing SS and 2B she has a 0.943 percentage.

Armadillos Split Doubleheader
During league play the Fightin' Armadillos split a doubleheader. Winning the first game against Edmond Rush in convincing fashion and dropping the second to Illusion. Allison, in 5 plate appearences hit a standup triple and double with one walk. That brings her batting average up to 0.303 and 0.430 OBP.
Throw out the Clock Tournament
Batted .300 for the weekend in Tulsa. On Base Pct .500 and 2 RBI's. The team is starting to come together and building some chemistry. Ready for New Mexico next weekend.
Opening Tournament this Friday for the Oklahoma Fightin' Armadillos
Lets hope the rain stays away.
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY - NO TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND
All the rain this week made the fields unplayable. Next Weekend playing in Tulsa and then the following weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) we have revised our schedule and playing in Rio Rancho, NM (Albuquerque).
Went 2 for 2 last night
With 5 plate appearances - 2 singles, 2 sacrifice bunts, and one hit by pitch.
Armadillos Off To Slow Start
The weather was terrible. Winds gusting to 50 MPH, COLD and rainy. Due to all the cold weather and snow, the Armadillos have had limited time on the practice field this spring. Because of this, this tournament was treated like a scrimage. The coach was trying players out in different positions. Allison played Shortstop and 2nd.

Allison played predominately 3B & SS. Soph year, Allison told the coach we don't have a catcher an I haven't played catcher but I will try". Gave up starting 3B to help the team, She became the starting catcher. Team Player willing to make sacrifices.
By Patrick Porter (Parent/Coach)
Allison began playing ball helping out on her little brothers baseball team when they were shorthanded. She began to learn the skills and then developed the in depth knowledge of the game. She has been know to work hours on her hitting and fielding.
