Hannah Trainer and Tennessee Xplosion win Berth to Gold Nationals
After missing the berth by one game in Houston and Winterhaven, the Xplosion Gold finished 5-0 to walk away with the berth in Bloomington this weekend. The Xplosion posted wins over the Hawks, the Nighthawks, the Fusion, the Chill and the Beverly Bandits with scores of 8-0, 11-0, 4-2, 2-0 and 2-0. Hannah batted 364 on the weekend and turned key 4-6-3 double play in the 4-2 win over the Fusion!
Xplosion Gold at Qualifier in Houston Texas
Although we outscored our opponents 36 to 4 in an 8 game period, we fell to the Houston Power and the Texas Ecclipse 1-0 each to be eliminated and miss our berth by ONE GAME! Xplosion will be in Lakeland Florida this weekend for another Gold Qualifier.
Hannah Trainer named to District 11aaa All Tournament Team
After losing to Brentwood 3-1 earlier in the week, Ravenwood fell into the losers bracket of the District Tournament. After a Thunderstorm that included lightning, hail and tons of rain, the loser's bracket game finally got underway at 5:30 on Friday. After giving up a run in the top of the first, both teams were sent to cars after a bolt of lightning came way too close to the field. The lightning was followed by a downpour. The coaches worked hard to get the field ready (again) and the game resumed just after six. Ravenwood defeated Independence soundly as the Brentwood Bruins watched...
Regular Season District Champions!
Hannah's bat is hot right now. In her last 40 at bats, she is batting above 500 including a triple and a home run in district play! She hit 750 (3 for 4 with two swing away singles and a soft slap infield hit) in the must win district game last night. District tournament starts next week at Independence High School.
Big District Win/ First Home Run!
Brentwood, our district rival jumped out to a 2-0 lead tonight. I had a sac fly RBi early to make it 2-1. I came up again in the top of the 5th with two runners on and two outs. I hit it over the right center field fence to score three runs! The score was now 4-2. Brentwood later tied the game 4-4. We went in to extra innings and wound up winning the game in the 8th. Our leadoff reached first on a walk, I sacrificed her to second and a base hit scored her to put us ahead 5-4. We were able to hold them in the bottom of the 8th to hold on to the win! I hope to be able to continue to work...
11 innings with Coffee County
Thanks to everyone who came out for Pack the Park for Patton night. We went 11 innings with the Coffee County Raiders and wound up losing 10-8. Hannah was 3 for 5 plus a walk with an OBP of .666 on the night. The newly unstapled cleat gash in the knee held up well through numerous dives back into bases, a defensive dive and a couple of slides. YAY. A special thanks to the BGA softball team who came in mass to support our team's effort to honor Elizabeth. We play Brentwood High School tonight at 6 pm at Ravenwood.
Great Softball Weekend and BUSY WEEK AHEAD!
My high school team had the weekend off this weekend, so my mom and I made it to several other games. We watched Blackman play on Friday night, then went to Belmont vs. ETSU on Saturday morning and Samford vs. UTC and Rhodes vs. Birmingham Southern on Sunday. Thanks so much to Coach Garris for the tour of the athletic facilities at Samford on Sunday. This week is very busy for our Ravenwood High School Team. We play Coffee County at 7pm tonight and it is "Pack the Park for Patton" night in honor of Elizabeth Patton. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a big game against our district rival Brentwood at...
Update on Academics and School and Travel Softball
My GPA for the current quarter was 4.417 and my cumulative is currently 4.147. I took the SAT this fall and made a 560 verbal, 630 Math and 580 writing. I have a new travel team! The new ASA rules regarding college players depleted the Nashville Cruisers planned roster. I have since joined the Tennessee Xplosion Gold and will be playing for Coach Brian Drake. We currently plan to be in Houston, Texas June 11-13 for an ASA Gold Southern Territory Qualifier, in Winterhaven, Florida June 18-20 for an ASA Gold Southern Territory Qualifier, in Bloomington, Indiana June 25-27 for an ASA...
Tennessee Fall Exposure
Thanks to all the coaches who came out to watch The Cruisers play this weekend. Hannah wore number 6 (the profile book had her listed as 7). She hit in the leadoff spot and played second all weekend. Her weekend hi-lights included a stand up triple in the Louisville Sluggers game, a stolen base and a two for three performance in the Kentucky Outlaws game, and three stolen bases in the Elite Diamonds game. Her weekend on base percentage was .500. Defensively, she was steady as always with no errors and a couple of great range plays. She goes into winter with several camps scheduled and...

ACT, First Cruisers Gold Practice and University of Kentucky
I felt pretty good about the ACT for the first time taking it without any prep. I will probably take it several more times. My first Cruisers practice was this weekend and we worked very hard for over 2 hours. We were all covered in dirt and some of us (ME) were even bloody! It was a great workout. I loved the camp at the University of Kentucky. The coaches were great to work with. I got some tips on better ball placement for slapping and found some things that I need to work on in the infield also. The campus was beautiful and it was a great day to be outside and be playing softball...
Thanks to Lindsey Wilson and Ball State!
I would like to thank the coaches and players at Lindsey Wilson for being so nice during our visit. I enjoyed seeing your campus, dorms, apartments and working out with you guys! Also, thanks to Ball State for putting on a very efficient showcase camp. After getting lost and showing up just 4 minutes before the hitting session, I was a little tense but managed to work that out and have a decent showing. I did realize that I need to get back with Coach Clyde and get my home to first time back to where it was at the end of the season. He's right about one thing... sprinting is like anything...
Camp and Campus visit schedule
Hannah Trainer will be attending the Austin Peay college showcase camp all day on 8/29 and the morning of 8/30. She will then travel to Kentucky to work out with the girls at Lindsey Wilson College on Friday 9/4, continuing on to Muncie, Indiana for a college showcase at Ball State University on 9/5. The following weekend, she will take the ACT on Saturday morning and then travel to Kentucky on Sunday 9/13 for the University of Kentucky's high school camp. She will potentially play in college exposure tournaments the weekends of 9/19 amd 9/26 (more details as that is confirmed). On October...

Plans for fall
At this point, Hannah is trying to decide between a team change which would simply offer more fall playing opportunities (her current team is made up of many players already playing college ball and thus not able to play travel ball this fall) or, attending camps and making unofficial college visits. She currently has tentative camp dates of Sept 5, Oct 23, and Nov 14 Weekends. Hannah is taking the ACT on September 12 and the ACT on October 10. If we stay with the same team, we will play in tournaments only on October 17 and October 31. As of now, open weekends include September 19th...
Music City Hits 2009
Sill recovering from an ankle sprain in her last high school game, Hannah had a good MCH tournament. She hit over 400 (waiting for exact stats from coach) and had 6 (also waiting for exact stats) stolen bases. We played 18 Gold and did fairly well.
Sophomore Year Ravenwood High School
After losing starting center fielder and leadoff hitter Elizabeth Patton to a 14 day battle with Steven Johnsons Syndrome, the girls stepped up this year and had a great season in her honor. Hannah stayed anchored at second base and moved into the leadoff slot. She was in the top batting averages in the county (finishing the year at 379) and was second in stolen bases and runs scored in the county. She was named All Willimson County Second Base and Ravenwood High School Most Valuable Defense. Her coach spoke of her range and reliability at the team banquet and commented that "this kid makes...
Freshman Year: Ravenwood High School
After showing up to workouts two weeks late due to the overlap of Basketball season, Hannah worked her way into the starting spot at second base before district play began. She finished the season solidly playing second and bating second in the lineup.
