Calvary Chapel 3 West Covina 10 Even though Calvary Chapel ended their season with a loss in the second round of playoffs, Gabrielle Jackson ended with a bang. Gabby hit a line drive to left center that bounced over the fence for a ground rule double. She came up and hit yet another double to left center in her second at bat. When she came up for her third at bat they didn't pitch to her and she ended up getting a walk. |
A Day After Nationals We just got back from South Dakota and my voice is still gone from all the cheering. This past week the Firecrackers handled their business on the field until Saturday afternoon. We were winning every game then against Georgia Impact our first baseman Sandy slid into third and messed up her knee. Her hit before the slide helped us win it but when we went to our next game in the winners bracket we lost the first game. So we had to play right after that in the losers bracket and lost 4 to 1. Our run at the National Championship was gone in the blink of an eye. It wasn't a good ending to the tournament... |
A week before Nationals A week to go before we leave for South Dakota. We have been working so hard up to this point and we are ready to go. At states and in Oklahoma we learned a lot about our team and we have grown tremendously.
We are going to South Dakota to win our first National Championship as a team, and that is it. The plane ride, the hotel, the heat, the teams in our way, the intense games against tough teams, that's what we live for. We have come so close to winning it for the past 5 years. This year is going to be a little different. We are NOT coming home with a trophy that says 3rd place or 5th place... |
Calvary Chapel 6 Covina 5 Calvary Chapel comes out with a win against Covina in the first round of playoffs. Gabby Jackson went 3 for 4 against Covina. She got 2 base hits to the right side and hit a double over the 3rd baseman's head that hit 2 runs in. |
