The Effingham County Lady Rebels started coming through with hits with runners on base at just the right time.
Effingham broke a sixth-inning tie with three run-scoring singles, and the Lady Rebels won their oft-postponed matchup with Brunswick 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
“We struggled to begin with,” said Lady Rebels coach Matt Huntley after his team improved to 3-0 on the season and in Region 2-AAAA.

The perfect season looked in doubt early in Tuesday’s game.
But the Effingham County Lady Rebels came to life in the fourth inning, scoring four times and eventually posting a 6-2 win over in-county rival South Effingham.
Coupled with Monday’s 8-0 rout of Wayne County, the fifth-ranked Lady Rebels moved to 12-0 on the season and 7-0 in Region 3-AAAA.

The Effingham County Lady Rebels softball team wasted little time in putting the emotion of senior day and the disappointment of their first region loss behind them quickly.
The Lady Rebels rebounded from a 5-2 defeat in the first game to roll past Ware County 9-1 in five innings in the nightcap of a doubleheader Saturday at Lady Rebel Field.
