This was our first true test of our team this weekend. We did really well winning all five of our games. I went 8 hits for 11 at bats, three of those being doubles. Here are the scores of the games we played:

| Chelsey Morgan's Summer Ball Complete
Summer ball is a wrap and we had a good showing. Texas Shoclwave Gold placed 9th in the Colorado Fireworks and 13th in the IFA Gold Nationals. My batting average is .383, OBP .564, and SLP .490. I had only 3 strike outs for the entire summer. I am looking forward to fall ball after a much earned rest! |
 | Lost First Bracket Late Thursday 2 - 1 Extra Innings
We played the Texas Sting late Thursday. For some reason, none of us could not hit their pitcher at all. We went 0 - for 6 innings. We went up 1 - 0 in the top of the 7th. Sting tied it up in the bottom. In the eighth, sting won it 2 - 1. |
 | !! IFA Nationals 2 - 1 in Pool Play !!
We are playing in Beaumont this week. We won two of the three pools games. Bracket play starts today @ 2:00. Batting average remains high. I put the ball in play, usually with hard shots. Out of 70+ at bats this summer, I have only struck out 2 times. Due to my high batting stats, I was promoted to the four hole in the lineup. |

We are in Beuamont playing in the IFA Nationals. We won our first pool game but lost the second one. We play Wednesday @ noon.
We played extremely well in Plano. We won all six games we played. Unfortunately I hit a hard line drive to the third baseman on the OK Dazzlers and broke her hand. My sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery to the player.

We have our first weekend off in awhile. I am going to celebrate my 17th birthday on Saturday. We will be in San Antonito July 17 and Plano on July 24. My BA is .469 for the season, .601 SLG and .650 OB. Come and watch our team play! |
| Finished in the Top 16 at the Fireworks
It was hard fighting the rain delays, but overal a great tournament. We won 11 of our 13 games played in Colorado. We lost one pool (by one run) and one bracket game (by two runs). Unfortunately there was no loser's bracket so that was then end our our journey. |

We won 3 of our 4 pool games. The one we lost was by one run in the last inning. This gave us first seed in our pool bracket. We play at 3:00 on Friday at ASP on A1! We are down one pitcher, but still going strong. I am batting around ..650 - .700 so far this tournament. |

The NFCA Camp went really good. My number is 497. I hit almost every ball to the fence! My batting average for the tournament so far is 1.000! We start pool games tomorrow and hope it continues on the same path. |

Cy-Fair wasn’t the only underdog to advance. Dobie, which has popped in and out of local and statewide rankings all season, defeated Clements in Game 2 and 3 of their series Friday and Saturday. Prior to the series, Clements had been in the state’s top five all season.
Dobie coach Robin Rackley believes playing best-of-three series helps the better team emerge.

Lost First Game in Series 1 - 5 in 9 Innings
We played Clements on 5/14/09. In the first inning, I dit a double and drove in the only run we scored the entire game. The score remained 1 - 0 until the 7th with 2 outs and 2 strikes. One pitch away from winning the game, Clements hit one up the middle and tied the game. After two extra innings, Clements came out on top to win the first in the series. We play again on 5/15/09 at Alvin. |
| Dobie Beats Pearland 4 - 0 To Win Last District Game
Saturday April 25, Dobie played their last district game against Pearland. It took 8 innings, but Dobie let loose in the 8th and managed to score 4 runs. I had a sacrifice bunt, one hit and a hard hit double in the 8th that contributed to one of the four runs. This was a great way to wrap up the season. Our spring season completes with a 25 - 9 record. Now on to playoffs....... |

We had a slow start to the season, losing our first game to Pasdadena Memorial in extra innings. Our second game was against Deer Park. We won 3 - 1 in 10 innings. Game 3 Dobie run ruled LaPorte. Friday, April 3, Dobie played Pasadena Memorial. We were scoreless into the 12th inning. In ITB, our runner had advanced to third. Dobie had one out when I came up to bat. With the count 3 - 0, the next pitch was perfect. I sent it into deep center and the runner came home to win the game in the bottom of the 12th - 3 1/2 hours later! Our district record is now at 6 - 2. |
| We beat Cinco Ranch and Clements at Baseball USA on Sat!
Dobie played at Baseball USA on 3/5 - 3/7. On Saturday, Dobie played Cinco Ranch and Clements. Dobie won both games in ITBs.
Against Cinco Ranch, in the seventh inning I dove and fielded a ball that went past the third baseman. The go ahead runner saw the third baseman miss and she rounded third to home. I came up with the ball and threw from one knee and the catcher tagged her out. We were able to come back and score the next at bat to win the game.
