Brie Floyd named to the 1st team All-Region 8-A team
After finishing the season 23-5 with a Region 8-A title, Prince Avenue's softball team had seven players named to the All-Region 8-A team on Wednesday. Lyndey McCurry was named Region 8-A player of the year and to the All-Region first team. Also on that first team from Prince Avenue were Kaley Garmon, Brie Floyd and Kellen Ford. Lydia Campbell, Alex Bettis and Kadijah Arnold were named to the second team.

DANIELSVILLE - Brie Floyd homered and drove in three and Alex Bettis had three hits as Prince Avenue took down Elbert County in eight innings Wednesday at the Madison County Leadoff Classic. Lyndey McCurry (3-1) picked up the victory in relief. She pitched three innings, allowing three hits and striking out four. Lydia Campbell and Kellen Ford chipped in with two hits apiece.

TOCCOA - Lindy McCurry pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout as the Prince Avenue softball team opened the season with a 1-0 victory over fifth-ranked Johnson County at the Thread Sports Invitational on Friday. Brie Floyd provided the game's only run with a solo homer in the fifth inning. The Wolverines also topped host Stephens County 4-1 behind pitching by Alex Bettis (five strikeouts, two hits).
