Johnson, a freshman pitcher, making only her second start of the season due to an injury, pitched seven innings giving up five hits, one earned run and striking out eight in a quarterfinal win over Canandaigua. |
Semifinal Game Webster 3 Athena 2
Top Seeded Webster Thomas defeated 6 seeded Greece Athena in extra innings Monday Night. The Trojans scored on a bobbled throw in the top of the seventh to take a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the seventh the Titans were down to there final out with a runner at second, but a high throw to first and an over throw to third got the tieing run in for the Titans. In extra innings, Riley Johnson hit a 1 out double. A hard ground ball off the Titan thirdbasemen got Johnson to third with 1 out. Johnson then scored the go ahead run on an over throw to third. Quarterfinal Game Athena 7 Canadaguia 3
The Trojans of Athena traveled to Canadaguia Friday night to take on the Braves. Freshman Riley Johnson had a no hit shut out going into the bottom of the seventh for the Trojans. She finished with 9 strike outs, allowed 5 hits and 3 unearned runs. Johnson helped her cause by going 1-for-3 at the plate with 1 single, a sac bunt, a run scored and 2 RBIs |
| Off-Season Training
For the off season I train at the Sports Dome in Greece. At the Sports Dome I work on my offensive versatility as well as my fundamentals in the field. I contiune to develop and become an all round hitter from the left side; bunts, slaps, and hitting for power. Hoping of achiveing my goal as becoming the most feared all around player and hitting in Monore County. |

Riley Johnson of Greece Athena … Eighth grade pitcher Johnson was 3-0 last week with a one-hitter against Hilton and a no-hitter against Greece Olympia. She allowed only seven hits in 21 innings. She also batted .333.
