There have been times during the past two seasons when things seemed as if they were going to unravel around Medina Valley pitcher Crystal Keller.
Her pitches, on those occasions, suddenly struggled to find the strike zone. The two-out, bases-empty situations turned into two-out, bases-loaded situations. The game seemingly was hanging in the balance.

SOFTBALL MEDINA VALLEY
With just one senior lost from last year’s Class 3A state championship team, the Panthers appear primed to defend their crown. Junior pitchers Crystal Keller and Mysia Proctor combined to go 33-9 in the circle last season with Keller picking up state tournament MVP honors as well as TSWA Class 3A Player of the Year recognition. Keller and Proctor each hit better than .360 last spring and junior Rebecca Kwapich tied a state tournament record by hitting .714 for the two... |

In its run through this year's Class 3A softball playoffs, Medina Valley has won in a variety of ways.
The Panthers have prevailed with dominating pitching, late-inning heroics and big offensive performances.
In moving another step closer to defending its state championship, Medina Valley's 6-4 victory against La Vernia on Friday ran the gamut.

State Champions....What a Feeling....
Medina Valley High School secured their first ever Softball State Championship by defeating Burkburnett 7-2 on Saturday 6-2-07 at McCombs field on the University of Texas campus. Mysia Proctor started at 3rd base for the Panthers and played flawless defense that left many in the stands amazed. With Mysia's stellar defense she kept the Panthers in the drivers seat for the victory. Mysia was honored for her play by being selected to the 2007 3a Texas Softball... |
