Strikeforce 16U Goes to ASA National Softball Tournament
The 16 and under Strike Force girls fastpitch softball team is getting ready to travel to Owensboro, Ky., after qualifying to participate in the American Softball Association national championship July 26 to Aug. 3.
The team qualified for the national championship after participating in the ASA Junior Olympic 16 and under state championship qualifying tournament June 20-22 in Hemet and Menifee. The tournament was attended by 61 teams in Southern California.
"Our girls ended up with seven wins and one loss," said the team's coach-manager Jim Jensen.

Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley had its first winning softball season. The Lady Mustangs took 3rd place in their league behind Canyon Springs High and Valley View High. This is the first time Rancho Verde has made the CIF playoffs in softball. |
