 | Foust's work on hitting this week paid off Heather Foust and Avengers Gold Sonny were 4-1 this weekend at the Diamond Elite Showcase tournament in Plano, TX. Heather had been working to tweak her hitting after last weekend and it paid off! In the last game on Sunday against the Round Rock Blaze, Heather hit 2 RBIs to tie the game and then scored the game winning run in the last few minutes to help the Avengers win the 4th and last game of the weekend. |

Foust Nominated to English Honor Society Heather was nominated and accepted the invitation to join the English Honor Society this week. Heather is excited about this opportunity. Heather recently also became a member of the Student Council for Marcus High School. Heather hopes that both of these will give her added opportunities to get more involved in community programs. |
Foust Returns To The Mound In High School Fall Ball Season After playing a great deal of 2nd base throughout the summer, Heather Foust was eager to return to her primary position in High School as pitcher, and what better place to start than the High School Fall Ball season. Heather Foust's Summer Work-out Keeps Her In Shape! As Heather Foust completed her season with her team, she continued to try and stay in shape for the school off-season to begin. Her summer workout regiment prepared her for the first week of high school as she ran her mile in a 7.21, coming in 2nd place by only 10 seconds. Heather was very proud of her accomplishment and the fact that she stayed fit throughout the summer. She is looking forward to the challenges that this school year will bring. |

 | FM Marcus Softball Clinches Playoff Spot on Senior Night On Senior Night at Larry Sigler Field, the Flower Mound Marcus softball team defeated the visiting Lady Trojans of Carrollton Newman Smith 8-0.  | Marcus Softball Stays in the Playoff Hunt After sweeping through District 6-5A with an unbeaten record a year ago and advancing all the way to state, the Marcus softball team has found this year’s road to playoffs to be a bit rough.
But just like last year, they refuse to give in.
The Marauders improved to 7-4 in league play on Tuesday thanks to a 13-2 destruction of rival Lewisville. The win – which was Marcus’ third in five games – keeps them in a tie for third place with Carrollton Creekview with identical 7-4 records.

The Farmers (9-13, 4-7) lost to Marcus, 9-5, March 14. The team is in fifth place in District 6-5A.

Marcus closed in on a playoff berth Friday as the Lady Marauders decked Carrollton Newman Smith, 8-0, in District 6-5A softball play at Marcus.
The Lady Marauders (15-9, 8-4) got a strong pitching performance from starter and winner Heather Foust. Foust allowed one run. Lisa Chavera took the loss for Newman Smith. Marcus tallied nine hits Friday including doubles by Foust, Sarah Strassemeyer and Sara Draheim.

Thursday, Hebron allowed seven runs in the second inning, as the Lady Hawks fell to Flower Mound Marcus, 15-1, in a District 6-5A softball game at Marcus.

But on Friday night, the state's No. 18 team beat district rival Flower Mound Marcus, 4-2, by playing small ball.
Most of Flower Mound's starters have at least one home run, but six bunts ignited the team at Marcus., which remained remained in second place in District 6-5A.

Preston's Cluth Hitting Keeps Lady M's Perfect in District Play Amy Preston’s history against Coppell pitcher Kellie Spann amounted to facing her several times in summer ball without getting a hit.
Preston had those thoughts in her mind Friday night when Marcus senior faced Spann with two out in the third and the bases loaded in a 0-0 game.
Right before Preston stepped to the plate she informed coach Christy Tumilty of her lack of success against Spann.

Flower Mound Marcus ace whiffs 12 in three-hit shutout win Flower Mound Marcus senior Ashley Baumgard led her team to a 2-0 victory by striking out 12 in a three-hit shutout against Midland in a Class 5A Region I semifinal playoff.
The game was scoreless until the sixth inning, when Marcus' Amy Preston doubled down the third-base line to drive in Hillary Ford. In the seventh, Baumgard had a two-out single to right field to score Heather Foust, who had tripled.

Marcus’ Heather Foust tossed at three-hitter Marcus’ Heather Foust tossed at three-hitter on Tuesday night as the Lady Marauders clinched the District 6-5A softball title with a 4-1 victory at Carrollton Newman Smith.
The Lady Marauders (17-6, 12-0) will host Hebron on Friday night. Marcus won’t close out district play until April 13 when it plays at Coppell.

On that same day, Flower Mound’s softball team will begin its quest to advance to the area round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
