Sun Devils Enjoy Day of Celebration at the White House
The Arizona State University softball and track & field teams traveled to the nation's capital Wednesday and met with President George W. Bush to celebrate the national championships each team won during the past academic year. Eleven teams in all were on hand for the celebration, including five representing the state of Arizona.
ASU Student-Athletes Of The Month Announced
Nikole Afusia of the softball team and Zach Wilson of the baseball team have been named Student-Athletes of the Month, the Office of Student-Athlete Development announced.
Softball To Host National Championship Celebration and Alumni Game This Saturday!
The Sun Devil Softball Team is gearing up to host an Alumni Game for the ages this upcoming November 1 from 3-7:30 p.m. in Tempe at Farrington Stadium. Included in the festivities are a home run derby, autographs, pictures and trick-or-treat on the field as well as a celebration of the 2008 National Championship. Come see the 2008 'Dream Team' one last time as well as numerous notable alumni and all three coaches in ASU Softball history!
Softball Puts On A Strong Showing Over Weekend Fall Tournament
The preparation to defend their 2008 NCAA title continued for the Sun Devil Softball team this past weekend as they put on an impressive showing topping Palomar College twice and Central Arizona once as ASU outscored their opponents 49-2 over the weekend. Final scores on the weekend were 15-0 and 20-2 over Palomar College and 14-0 over Central Arizona.
Softball Changes Game Times for This Saturday
Due to the ASU Football game and parking issues, the fall softball games for this Saturday, October 25 will be started an hour earlier than planned. ASU will now play Palomar at 12:15 p.m. and Central Arizona at 2:30 p.m. All games will still be played at ASU's Farrington Stadium.

The 2008 NCAA Softball National Champion Arizona State Sun Devils unveiled their 2009 schedule slate this week, which showcases some of the best names in collegiate softball. In addition to their grueling Pac-10 schedule, the Sun Devils are also set to face-off against powerhouses such as Florida, Oklahoma, Northwestern and Texas just to name a few.

Bruce Snyder, Pat Tillman Head Class Of Eight For ASU Sports Hall Of Fame/Distinction
Arizona State University will welcome eight new members into its Bill and Judy Schaefer athletic Hall of Fame this year, Vice President for Athletics Lisa Love has announced.The 2008 class includes Hall of Distinction inductee Bruce Snyder (football coach) and student-athletes Pat Tillman (football), Eric Allen (football), Jacinta Bartholomew (track and field), Brandie Burton (golf), Lisa Dacquisto (softball), Markus Mollica (wrestling) and Jeremy Veal (basketball). The inductees will be honored at the Hall of Fame football game on Oct. 25 vs. Oregon at Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field.
