Registration is underway for the UC Davis Softball January Winter Skills Camp. The one-day event will be held on January 17 a La Rue Field on the UC Davis campus.
Yoder Selected To Take Part In NCAA's WCA
UC Davis head softball coach Karen Yoder will be one of a select group of coaches nationwide who will take part in next week's NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA). The five-day training event is open to coaches from any sport and any division.

Softball To Host Sacramento State In Exhibition
The UC Davis softball team continues its fall exhibition schedule Thursday when it hosts Sacramento State. The contest begins at 3 p.m. at La Rue Field and is the third of four fall games the Aggies are taking part in.
UC Davis Softball Announces 2009 Schedule
The 2009 UC Davis softball schedule has been unveiled and the slate features a total of 54 regular season games. The breakdown includes 33 non-conference contests as well as a 21-game Big West Conference schedule. In all, the Aggies will play 17 games against teams that participated in last year's NCAA Tournament.
Softball To Hold Tryouts On October 3
The UC Davis softball coaching staff will be holding tryouts for the upcoming season on Oct. 3 at La Rue Field. The tryouts will run from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students wishing to tryout must contact head coach Karen Yoder, via e-mail, no later than Oct. 1.
UC Davis Softball Fall Schedule Set
UC Davis will play a total of four exhibitions as part of a fall schedule that encompasses three dates. The first action for the Aggies takes place on Oct. 11 when the team takes part in the 2008 Battle of the Bay in Hayward. Addition contests against Sacramento State and Cal will round out the team's upcoming schedule.
UC Davis Signs Marissa Araujo
The UC Davis softball program has signed Marissa Araujo to an athletics grant-in-aid agreement, announced head coach Karen Yoder. Araujo will join the Aggies as a junior in 2008-09 after a pair of standout seasons at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas.
Aggies Boast 18 Academic All-Big West Spring Athletes
Eighteen UC Davis student-athletes have earned 2007-08 Academic All-Big West Conference honors for the spring season, it was announced Wednesday by the conference office. The Aggies women's track and field team had the most student-athletes honored with eight while men's tennis had four, and softball, women's tennis and men's track and field each had two.
UC Davis Softball Camp Registration Underway
Registration is underway for the 2008 UC Davis Softball Camp. A variety of options are available for ages 8 and up. The first camp date runs July 8-9 with the second date taking place Aug. 12-13. The July session features a Kids Day Camp in the morning for ages 8-12. An afternoon session on the same days is available for ages 13 and up. A Prospect Camp takes place in August, which features two all-day sessions for ages 13 and up.
Lastrapes Joins Aggie Softball Staff
Dominique Lastrapes has joined the UC Davis softball staff as an assistant coach, announced head coach Karen Yoder. Lastrapes most recently served as the director of softball operations at Washington following a standout four-year playing career for the Huskies.
Sherman To Leave UC Davis To Start New Program
UC Davis assistant softball coach Rachel Sherman is leaving the Aggies to become head coach of a brand new softball program at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Sherman has spent the past four years with UC Davis and has played a critical role in the Aggies' transition to Division I.
Hancock Named First Team All-Big West
The Big West Conference handed down its post-season softball awards Tuesday, and UC Davis junior Jessica Hancock is among those receiving first-team All-Big West recognition. Hancock is one of three Aggies garnering recognition as both Sarah O'Neill and Trish Paine received honorable mention.
Menapace Repeats With District Academic Honor
Deanna Menapace has received ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive year. The junior catcher for the UC Davis softball team has been named second team All-District. Menapace led the Aggies in several offensive categories this season.
Matadors Pull Out Series With 7-3 Victory
Sarah Axelson hit a three-run homer to put UC Davis on top, 3-1, but Cal State Northridge scored five unearned runs on its way to a 7-3 victory Saturday afternoon at Matador Diamond. UC Davis outhit Cal State Northridge 8-6 but committed four errors in the game, which was the last of a three-game set between the two teams.
